Stephanie White obviously is not a stranger to women’s basketball with great time played rather being the coach of both programs. Born in Danville Illinois on June 20th (1977), White is one of the most personable characters to ever dip a toe into our sport.
A Stellar Playing Career
White went on to have a standout career at Purdue University. A member of the silver-medal winning United States team at Sydney in 2000, she is a past recipient of most every major collegiate award including National Player-of-the-Year (Wade Trophy) while helping Purdue to its first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. Her leadership and physical play made her one of the best in franchise history.

A Successful Coaching Career
White entered into a coaching career after her tenure as the Lady Vol point guard. She has been a coach at every level, including the WNBA and NCAA. She was the head coach of Indiana Fever and Vanderbilt Commodores women’s basketball team.
In 2022, White would serve as the chief head coach for Connecticut Sun also. She led Connecticut to a 27-7 record in her maiden season, setting the mark for team wins and being named the league’s Coach of The Year.
