Rising NFL star Darius Slayton

Wide Receiver — Darius Slayton, New York Giants Quick and big-play threat Darius Slayton has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most important parts in the Giants offense.

Early Life and College Career

Slayton was raised in Norcross, Georgia and attended Greater Atlanta Christian School. He went on to play college football at Auburn University. His tools to be a playmaker at the position were on display in his time with Auburn, and he caught the eye of NFL scouts thanks to that athleticism.

NFL Career

The New York Giants drafted Slayton in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact as a rookie, becoming one of the most reliable targets for quarterback Daniel Jones. He is a serious threat with the deep ball and can win contested catch situations, which has given him quite an advantage in this Giants’ offense.

But one of Slayton’s signature performances arrived in a 2019 Monday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He scored both with a 55-yard touchdown catch that illustrated his game-breaking speed and making-play ability.

Key Strengths

Deep To Intermediate: He can stretch the field vertically on a consistent basis.

Hands/Awareness Score: Slayton can make the catch in traffic.

Challenges

Slayton has flashed but also struggled. An issue at times has been consistency, and dropping too many passes. Still, if he continues to develop and work hard at his craft Slayton has a chance of becoming one of the top wideouts in the NFL.
