Ravens Beat Browns in Battle
Week 8 — The Baltimore Ravens edged the Cleveland Browns. Both teams had terrific performances, but the team that won demonstrated their fight and not giving up.
It was a battle of defense with each team going back and forth.All day, the Ravens front seven has stymied Cleveland’s running attack — holding Hyde to just 2. Baltimore’s offense was plain ugly, but the Browns defense did its part in shutting down a Ravens unit that underachieved severely.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a decent night as both a passer and runner. As a result, he was able to keep the Ravens’ offense moving with his improvisational skills and adept passing from multiple platforms. But the Browns defense, all afternoon long, never really allowed Jackson and company to completely settle into their groove against them.
It came right down to the wire, as both teams had chances to win. In the end, three key stops by that Baltimore defense wrapped up a win for its team. The Ravens stay alive in a spirited AFC North race and the Browns have some serious soul searching to do about their offensive attack.
