The biggest thing that Weekend showcased at Flash: Dwyane Wade’s very own Bronze Monument
Miami, FL – The Miami Heat paid homage to their franchise icon Dwyane Wade on Saturday night with a sculpture bronze unmasking in front of the Kaseya Center. The statue cements Wade as the toughest and most loyal Miami Heat legend, forever depicted in his signature ‘This is my house’ stance that says everything about D-Wade’s game.
Works by Rotblatt Amrany Studio in the past have included statues as well of Wade as a member of Heat. A three-time NBA champion, 13-time All-Star and finals MVP with the Miami Heat, Wade is in the conversation as one of the greatest shooting guards to ever play. Without question, his presence transformed the franchise and became vital for Miami-officially.
Wade had his family, friends and former teammates at the unveiling ceremony. Fans and players celebrated Wade’s storied career in an event that featured plenty of nostalgia and more than a few tears.
The statue itself has done the rounds on social media, albeit sparking debate about whether it resembles Kobe himself or otherwise.. but honouring a player who made such an impact upon the NBA is undebatable. ✊ The idolization behind Wade’s bronzed rendering is a two-pronged acknowledgement: one of greatness, and the other of what lingers.
