Chiefs vs Raiders

Winning Streak Continues — Chiefs Rock Raiders

Week 8 saw the continued brutal dispensation of losses by the Kansas City Chiefs upon Las Vegas Raiders, with this one going to K.C. 27-20 The Chiefs are now 13-0 in their last thirteen contests, including the postseason.

Mahomes Makes History

The reigning NFL MVP, Patrick Mahomes worked his magic again. What he did was not only lead the Chiefs to a win, but also create his own chapter in NFL history. As such, Mahomes will soon become the quickest quarterback to reach 30,000 career passing yards — a pretty danged impressive feather in his cap.

Even facing a difficult Raiders defense, Mahomes and the rest of his Chiefs’ offense were able to move the ball. With Kelce making key plays, as well a solid day of running from Kareem Hunt and other receivers providing critical catches throughout the contest would force Oakland’s defense to second guess themselves.

Defensive Standout

The win was also made possible by the Chiefs defense, which had been dominant all season. They created turnovers, they forced the Raiders out of their offensive sweetness spot and clogged holes to keep this much better version or raider squad at bay.

Vikings Next Victim of Mahomes

Even though the Raiders tried their absolute best, they could not figure out how to slow down Mahomes and this incredible Chiefs offense. Their defense shined in moments but were generally over-matched by Kansas City’s athleticism and expertise.

Looking Ahead

This win reinforces the Chiefs as one of Super Bowl contenders. They will need to keep their focus and intensity each game as they are in search of a three-peat. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will present a formidable challenge this week as well, one that has always matched up tough.

The rivals always have an intense level of hate, but this session was even more brutal. The Chiefs may have won, but the Raiders will be motivated to come back from this week
